Why another foundation?

Our dream is to ensure that resources will be available for the deciduous fruit industry to face the challenges ahead. The Hortgro Legacy Foundation will unlock alternative sources of revenue to fund social development, research infrastructure/
capacity, human resource development, and environmental sustainability.

Our goals

To empower

None of these programmes will duplicate existing initiatives.

To build partnerships

  • Build and improve relationships with existing and potential stakeholders by forming mutually beneficial partnerships to leverage additional funding.
  • Develop donor partnerships in the stone and pome value chain.

To give recognition

  • Give recognition to participants through the “Hortgro Legacy Foundation” certification and legacy brand.
